Three broken threads, woven together through an encounter with the unexplainable that could change the fate of humanity forever.
What is the Weave About?
The Weave is a weekly serial set in Elysannah, a star system far beyond the interstellar reach of either the crumbling Terran Coalition or the Mega-corps and their star-spanning resource wars. Using the Power granted to them by the entity they refer to as the Father, Regulim Kaine and his religious order, the Silver Circle of Truth, have turned the worlds of the Elysannah system into sanctuaries from the chaos, war, and disease burning through human-occupied space.
Lustrathīr, far from it’s mother-star’s warmth, is a world of endless winter. Colonies dedicated to spiritual purification under the watchful eye of the Circle’s Keepers and their Knights dot its surface. These are where loose threads in the Father’s divine tapestry may find their Truth through discipline and earn their way back into Elysannati society.
Sinner’s Landing, the oldest of the Lustrathiran purification colonies, has extended its cool, Honest embrace to three such souls: Veshrin, a stranger to Truth and himself, Tendakeo, a doctor whose principles cost him everything, and Laycia, a Silver Knight with a finely honed sense of lethal justice.
Will their shared destiny give rise to something new?

Who am I?
My name is H. D. Harris, and I’m an artist and writer living in Michigan. I’ve spent my whole life wrestling with the overwhelming urge to create, and it’s led me to interesting places. First, webcomics, then 3d character art, illustration, prose, and now to a project like the Weave. I wanted to explore a universe where philosophies and expectations can be challenged, inverted, unmade, and transformed.
When I set out, I had many questions I wanted to explore. What are the limits of faith? How many sins can a miracle pay for? What is the Self? How far can the line between individual and community blur before it transforms into something else entirely? What does the community owe to the individual? How does one recognize divinity? Which matters more, duty or honor? What do ethics look like through an alien lens?
This is a world that has been with me for some form over the last fifteen years, refusing to evaporate or calcify, developing new forms that caught me off guard, or outgrowing ones that I had believed essential, forcing an excision. I think it took that long because I had to grow as a person to the point I could—maybe—begin to grasp the answers. The time has come, I believe, to accept its challenge and give birth to it.
Why a Web-serial over a Novel Format?
A novel is useful for a story that is self-contained, or primarily self-referential, and primarily written to be consumed as a complete tale in a single form. Novels are known, both to the audience and to the author themself. This presents a problem. If the Weave were a novel, I could not present it until I had explored it as thoroughly as possible, until its entire shape has been mapped and quantified. I know the course of the Weave. I know many of its Heroes, and its Villains. I know the mountains they will have to climb, and the things that lurk in the shadows beneath them. However, that’s not enough to claim to know the story, in truth. Following a map with zero deviations is a trip, not an adventure. Adventure doesn’t appear on the map, does it? It shows up in the journey, in the challenges you face along the way, and how you respond to them. That is the part of storytelling that interests me the most. One step at a time, I must walk into the darkness, knowing I cannot turn back. If you come with me, we must trust one another. You, that I can find our way to the end, and for me, that you can follow me, no matter how difficult the way might prove.
